New Delhi में Tibetan Exiles का China के Ethnic Unity Law के खिलाफ Head-Shaving Protest
नई दिल्ली में 20 अगस्त 2026 को सैकड़ों Tibetan exiles ने China के "Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress" के खिलाफ Jantar Mantar पर जोरदार प्रदर्शन किया। इस protest में participants ने अपने सिर मुंडवाए (head-shaving) और इस controversial legislation का विरोध किया। आलोचकों का कहना है कि यह law cultural assimilation को बढ़ावा देता है और Tibetan identity को खत्म करता है। यह event Chinese Communist Party की policy के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन था और साथ ही activist Lobga Rangzen (जिन्हें Lobsang Palden भी कहा जाता है) की 2nd July 2026 को New York में United Nations Headquarters के बाहर हुई self-immolation की घटना के 49 दिन पूरे होने पर commemoration के रूप में आयोजित किया गया था।
Law की मुख्य बातें और प्रोविजन्स
यह controversial law, जिसमें 65 articles शामिल हैं, 12 March 2026 को पास होने के बाद officially 1 July 2026 से लागू हुआ है। इस law में यह mandate किया गया है कि ethnic groups एक shared national identity को प्राथमिकता दें। Key provisions में Article 15 शामिल है जो education में Mandarin को precedence देता है, और Article 46 जो religious practice को state की "Sinicization" policy के साथ align करता है। इसके अलावा, Article 63 ने international concern बढ़ा दिया है क्योंकि इसकी extraterritorial reach बीजिंग को ethnic unity के लिए कथित खतरों के चलते अपनी सीमाओं से बाहर के व्यक्तियों का पीछा करने की अनुमति देती है। Northeast Tibetan Youth Congress के coordinator Tsepel Tenzing ने कहा कि यह law distinct languages और cultures को मिटाने की धमकी देता है और global dissent को penalize करने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है, जबकि Tenzing Damdul ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि इस movement का उद्देश्य 1951 से Tibet पर China के occupation को हाईलाइट करना है।
International Intervention और Global Campaign
Tibetan Youth Congress, Kashag (Cabinet) और Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile ने collectively international intervention की मांग की है ताकि इस state-sanctioned assimilation का मुकाबला किया जा सके। इस law के खिलाफ पहले के demonstrations में 7 July का protest भी शामिल था जहां 80 activists को detain किया गया था। United News of India की reports के अनुसार, community ने international bodies को एक memorandum सौंपा है जिसमें इस law के implications का assessment करने की अपील की गई है (Source)। New Delhi में यह protest Australia के Canberra में हुए similar solidarity actions के साथ मेल खाता है, और Tibetan Youth Congress ने global level पर इन concerns को उठाने के लिए 162 embassies और international organizations को शामिल करते ہوئے एक diplomatic campaign की घोषणा की है।
