Noida के Gaur Chowk underpass project को लेकर एक बड़ी update सामने आई है। इस project की opening date अब आगे बढ़ा दी गई है और officials ने इसे late October 2026 यानी Diwali festival के आसपास शुरू करने का target रखा है।
Gaur Chowk underpass project पहले 15 August 2026 तक complete होने की उम्मीद थी, लेकिन अब deadline miss हो गई है। commuters को इस route पर भारी congestion का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, जहां उन्हें केवल 2 kilometer travel करने के लिए 1 hour तक का time लग जाता है। Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) के Deputy General Manager Vijay Rawal ने इस revised timeline को confirm किया है।
यह ₹92 crore का project 700-meter-long और six-lane underpass का construction शामिल करता है। इसे Greater Noida West के सबसे busy intersections में से एक पर traffic कम करने के लिए design किया गया है, जहां daily लगभग one lakh vehicles pass होते हैं।
Officials ने बताया कि construction setbacks का मुख्य कारण electricity, water, telephone, sewer, और gas pipelines जैसी critical underground utility lines को shift करने में आने वाली challenges थीं। इसके अलावा Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) के तहत operational restrictions और peak traffic hours में work को रोककर disruption कम करने की वजह से progress प्रभावित हुई।
Underpass का construction July 2024 में 18-month timeline के साथ शुरू हुआ था। primary civil structure काफी हद तक complete है, लेकिन bituminous surfacing, approach roads, kerb installation, road markings, और street lighting का work अभी pending है। फिलहाल commuters Taj Highway पर service lanes का use करने के लिए forced हैं। operational होने के बाद, Surajpur, Gaur City, Noida, Ghaziabad, और Delhi-Meerut Expressway के बीच travel करने वाले motorists के लिए peak hours में travel time 20 से 30 minutes तक कम होने की expectation है।
