Delhi Police ने 21 August 2026 को रामलीला मैदान में 'आरक्षण हटाो आंदोलन' बैनर के तहत शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शन के लिए official authorization जारी कर दिया है। Central District के Deputy Commissioner of Police के Office द्वारा दी गई इस approval में attendance को maximum 500 participants तक limit किया गया है और यह mandate किया गया है कि event दोपहर 4:00 PM तक conclude हो जाए। Delhi Police ने X (formerly Twitter) पर अपने official handle के जरिए No Objection Certificate (NOC) जारी करने की पुष्टि की है।
यह protest उस समय के बाद आया है जब police ने Jantar Mantar पर demonstrations के लिए permission explicitly deny कर दी थी। Jantar Mantar पर authorization न होने के बावजूद, शुक्रवार सुबह कई protesters वहां gather हो गए, जिससे police और paramilitary forces की deployment जरूरी हो गई।
DCP (New Delhi) Sachin Sharma ने personally participants को Jantar Mantar area vacate करने के लिए direct किया, जिसका कारण Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) की Section 163 का enforcement था, जो district में पांच या उससे अधिक लोगों की assembly को prohibit करती है।
Authorities ने Ramlila Maidan gathering के लिए strict guidelines issue की हैं, जिसमें यह note किया गया है कि legal instructions का कोई भी violation या peace maintain करने में failure पर permit का immediate revocation हो जाएगा।
'Arakshan Hatao Andolan' movement merit-based equal opportunity की advocacy करता है और existing caste-based reservation systems तथा University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations का strong opposition express करता है। यह protest NEET paper leak controversy के बाद momentum gain कर चुका है, और 'Cockroach Janta Party' (CJP) campaign द्वारा उठाए गए sentiments को echo करता है।
Delhi Police ने warn किया है कि protest permissions के बारे में misinformation create या disseminate کرنے वाले individuals के against legal action लिया जाएगा, और यह clarify किया गया है कि Jantar Mantar के लिए authorization क्लेम करने वाले previous social media posts fraudulent थे।
