Delhi Parents Association यानी DPA ने सोमवार, 24 अगस्त 2026 को Delhi Cantonment area में स्कूलों के पास चल रहे road construction और excavation को लेकर safety concerns उठाए हैं। Association का कहना है कि उबड़-खाबड़ सड़कों, बिखरे पत्थरों और construction debris के कारण Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) No. 2 सहित तीन स्कूलों के पास students को तुरंत खतरा पैदा हो गया है।
DPA ने Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) के Commissioner, Ministry of Education के Department of School Education and Literacy के Secretary और Delhi Cantonment Board के Chief Executive Officer को एक formal representation सौंपी है। DPA ने स्पष्ट किया है कि वे विकास कार्यों के खिलाफ नहीं हैं, लेकिन यह student safety की कीमत पर नहीं हो सकता है। accidents से बचने के लिए preventive measures लागू किए जाने चाहिए।
Association ने 48 hours के भीतर mandated site inspection कराने की मांग की है। इसके अलावा safe pedestrian routes बनाने, उचित barricading और warning signs लगाने तथा school arrival और dispersal hours के दौरान construction activities को regulate करने की मांग की गई है। DPA ने safety planning में किसी भी चूक के लिए full accountability की मांग की है और relevant agencies से seven working days के भीतर detailed action-taken report मांगी है।
