Delhi LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu ने Shivaji Stadium Underground Metro Station के लिए D-wall construction का किया inauguration
दिल्ली के Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu ने मंगलवार को नए underground Shivaji Stadium metro station के लिए diaphragm wall यानी D-wall के construction work का inauguration किया। यह station Delhi Metro Rail Corporation यानी DMRC के Phase 5(A) के तहत Central Vista Corridor पर Magenta Line extension (Janakpuri West से RK Ashram Marg) के रूप में develop किया जा रहा है। Lieutenant Governor ने इस work की शुरुआत को Delhi Metro के लिए एक significant milestone बताया और capital में modern और seamless connectivity को बढ़ावा देने में इसकी भूमिका पर जोर दिया। Sandhu ने कहा कि metro के expansion ने city को transform कर दिया है और project की continuous progress के लिए पूरा support देने की बात कही।
DMRC के press release के अनुसार, Shivaji Stadium metro station एक key interchange facility के रूप में काम करेगा। यह station 230-meter-long underground subway के जरिए existing Airport Express Line के साथ integrated होगा। इसके अलावा, travelators से लैस 800-meter-long underground subway इस new station को Rajiv Chowk metro station से जोड़ेगा जिससे pedestrian access मिलेगा। चूंकि यह station existing Airport Express Line के नीचे स्थित है, इसलिए D-wall लगभग 38 मीटर की depth तक जाएगी जो 12-story building के बराबर है।
इस construction activity से significant vehicle movement होने की उम्मीद है। इस project के लिए 3,000 cubic meters concrete के लिए per month लगभग 500 transit mixer trips और 15,000 cubic meters excavation के लिए per month लगभग 750 dumper trips की जरूरत होगी, जिसमें excavated material के disposal के लिए daily 25 dumper trips शामिल हैं। यह station Airport Express Line के commuters, local employees, students और Gurudwara Bangla Sahib आने वाले pilgrims के लिए beneficial होगा। इस construction contract को M/s Afcons Infrastructure Limited को award किया गया है।
Central Vista Corridor लगभग 9.913 kilometers में फैला हुआ है और इसमें nine underground stations शामिल हैं: Shivaji Stadium, Yuge Yugeen Bharat, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhawan, India Gate, War Memorial-High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam और Indraprastha। इस corridor के तहत Central Secretariat metro station पर construction work 24 June 2024 को शुरू हुआ था।
