Delhi High Court ने CIAN Agro और Nikhil Gadkari की Defamation Plea पर Caravan Magazine को भेजा Notice
दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने CIAN Agro Industries and Infrastructure Ltd और उसके Managing Director Nikhil Nitin Gadkari द्वारा दायर ₹10 करोड़ के defamation suit में The Caravan magazine और अन्य को notice जारी किया है। यह suit 1 मार्च 2026 के एक article 'Nagpur's Beef - The Beef Company Enmeshed in Gadkari's Business Empire' से संबंधित है, जिसमें कथित तौर पर CIAN Agro और Gadkari परिवार के business network को एक beef-exporting firm से जोड़ा गया था। Justice Subramonium Prasad ने 10 अगस्त 2026 को notice जारी किया और article के खिलाफ interim injunction के plaintiffs के application पर भी सुनवाई की।
Defamation Suit और Business की जानकारी
CIAN Agro और Nikhil Gadkari ने beef या cow meat के trade, processing या export में किसी भी तरह की संलिप्तता से साफ इनकार किया है। Company ने अपने plaint में बताया है कि वह केवल agro-based products के manufacture और trading में लगी है, जिसमें frozen vegetables, spices, sugar और edible oils शामिल हैं, और अपने business को vegetarian बताया है। दूसरे plaintiff Nikhil Gadkari का आरोप है कि publication ने beef business से उनके जुड़ने का false impression देकर उनकी personal और family reputation को नुकसान पहुंचाया है।
Defendants और आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई
इस suit में Delhi Press Patra Prakashan Pvt Ltd, The Caravan magazine, इसके editor-in-chief Paresh Nath और journalist Kaushal Shroff को defendants बनाया गया है, जिनसे court ने responses मांगे हैं। Plaintiffs Meta, X (formerly Twitter) और Google/YouTube जैसे social media platforms सहित कथित तौर पर defamatory material के republication या dissemination को रोकने के लिए dynamic injunction की भी मांग कर रहे हैं। CIAN Agro ने पहले 31 मार्च 2026 को एक legal notice भेजकर ₹50 करोड़ के damages की मांग की थी और article को हटाने की मांग की थी।
