Amnesty International Report: Gen Z Protests में Indian Police Force के खिलाफ गंभीर आरोप
Amnesty International ने 23 August 2026 को एक digital investigation report जारी की है। इस report के अनुसार, Gen Z protests के दौरान Indian government forces ने प्रदर्शनकारियों पर lethal weapons का इस्तेमाल किया। Delhi Police और Rapid Action Force पर ये आरोप लगे हैं कि उन्होंने New Delhi और Bihar में demonstrators के खिलाफ pellet-firing shotguns, tear gas launchers, grenades, batons और electric shock devices का इस्तेमाल किया। यह घटना 20 July से 24 July 2026 के बीच की है। Amnesty International ने Bihar के Siwan district में police द्वारा lethal force के unlawful use के दो मामलों को verify किया है, हालांकि इसमें किसी की death नहीं हुई।
Protests की मुख्य वजह और CJP की भूमिका
Gen Z protests की शुरुआत Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) द्वारा National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) में alleged leaks के बाद हुई थी। यह प्रदर्शन बाद में unemployment और government corruption के मुद्दों तक फैल गया। 20 July 2026 को parliament की तरफ एक march के दौरान यह agitation अपने peak पर पहुंच गया, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप 25 July 2026 को Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan ने resignation दे दिया। CJP ने government के commitments के बाद अपने protests को suspend कर दिया था।
FIRs और Supreme Court की कार्रवाई
23 August 2026 को CJP ने आरोप लगाया कि government ने 25 July को किए गए promises को पूरा नहीं किया है। यह मामला student protesters पर दर्ज First Information Reports (FIRs) को withdraw करने से जुड़ा है। party ने चेतावनी दी है कि यदि ये commitments पूरे नहीं हुए तो demonstrations फिर से शुरू होंगे। Supreme Court के एक hearing से पहले Delhi Police ने 24 August से पहले कहा था कि force का इस्तेमाल केवल तब किया गया जब demonstrators ने violence की और security personnel को grievous injuries पहुंचाईं। India's Supreme Court ने 20 August 2026 को police और protesters दोनों के conduct की investigation के लिए एक panel established किया था। opposition leader Rahul Gandhi ने 21 August को एक Delhi police station पर sit-in protest किया था ताकि pellets से घायल हुए demonstrator के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का विरोध किया जा सके।
